Meditation Monday: The Little Moments

by Emma Bartley

As the school year begins, life becomes very busy and we feel that we have no time to relax. Here is a simple tip to avoid stress and impatience!

Take advantage of small waiting times. Is your computer taking a long time to load? Are you waiting for toast to cook for breakfast? Do you have time to spare before class starts? When you are waiting, take a moment to relax yourself. Use the breathing technique from our last Mindfulness article! Maybe just take a simple moment to sit and not think. We are always on the next thing we have to do, but it is important to take some time and be in the present.

This also makes your waiting time seem shorter. When your Wi-Fi is slow, the amount of time that your computer takes to load is agonizingly long. By taking that moment to breathe and relax, the time will pass by quickly!

This technique will help to keep you patient and stress-free. Try it the next time you are waiting!
