Rosie’s Creativity!

written by Emma Bartley

Creativity can be expressed in many different ways. My sister, Rosie, (@rosiebphoto on instagram!) expresses her creativity through photography! I asked her some questions about her photography and creative process; here is what she said!

1. When did you start taking pictures?

I started between 8th grade and freshman year.

2. Why did you start taking pictures?

I was playing around with an iPhone and decided to start taking photos of my friends!

3. What has been the biggest thing that has helped you improve?

Looking at other artists’ work for inspiration and technique and applying it to my own photography and style has really helped.

4. Do you have any advice to anyone who wants to take pictures?

Start small. Figure out how to use a camera and practice like no other.

5. Do you have any general advice to someone who wants to start a business (not necessarily photography related)?

Again, start small. Pay attention to detail!

6. How do you come up with your picture ideas?

They’re a combination of little things that I take away from other art I see in daily life. I also follow a lot of other photographers on social media!

7. What is your favorite thing about taking pictures?

I love that there’s no right or wrong to it. It’s very freeing.

8. What do you aspire to do in the future?

I just know that I want to create.

Rosie is one of my biggest inspirations because she has worked so hard to get to where she is now. She has improved immensely through practice and determination, and I hope her hard work and creativity has inspired you to try something new!
