"Though she be but little, she is fierce." William Shakespeare

You CAN ✞

written by Emma Bartley

A friend showed this picture to me. It shows Jesus carrying away the ‘t’ in can’t as his cross, because “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

Sometimes, you want to be persistent and continue on, but it just gets too hard. If that describes you, just know that it is totally okay to turn to outside sources for motivation and help. My favorite way is to talk to God through prayer.

Whenever I am stressed or feel like I can’t take it any more, I take some time to pray to God about what is going on in my life. And every single time, I feel better. I feel encouraged and more relaxed.

If you are unsure of how you should pray or what way would be best for you, try these different ways!

1) just tell God about your day

2) sit in a quiet church, maybe during adoration, journaling or reflecting

3) read the Bible

4) read a reflection in a devotional book

5) spend some time in a beautiful place outside and talk with God

6) spend some time examining your day in the evening and looking for times when you were aware of God in your life, ways you weren’t acting like your best self, etc.

When you are feeling discouraged, I encourage you to take some time and sit down to pray to God. I promise you that this can make a world of a difference.

You CAN do it. And God is cheering you on.
