You Have to Check These Websites Out!

Honesty and integrity are two of the most important qualities to have as a student. However, sometimes you need a little support to help you understand the concepts you are learning in the classroom. Whether its looking up YouTube videos or searching the definitions of words, the internet is a great resource to help reinforce the material you learn in school. Below are websites that can help you in the upcoming school year!
This free-to-use website is part of a non-profit organization aimed to help educate students. After creating an account for free, you have access to videos and lessons for every subject and level. The website even has specific resources for standardized test training!
Created by brothers John and Hank Green, the Crash Course YouTube channel has almost 8 million followers and covers just about any topic you can think of. Their videos last an average of 10 minutes and provide succinct summaries of broad topics. I find the videos most helpful when I watch them after studying the details of the material in a chapter. The videos are great ways to check yourself and ensure you understand the specifics of the topic as well as the general concept.
Google Translate is not always accurate and because you can translate whole sentences, many teachers do not allow their students to use it. Word Reference translates single words in many different languages. It even has different forms of conjugated verbs!
Although the websites below may require a teacher to set up a class, they are great resources and I would definitely suggest showing them to your teacher.
After completing a preliminary quiz, Membean will place you in a level. Then, you will begin learning new vocabulary words. The website uses many different styles of questions to test your knowledge. From multiple choice to fill in the blanks, to videos and word webs, you are guaranteed to stay engaged while expanding your vocabulary.
Conjugating Spanish verbs and remembering their meanings can be very tricky. This website provides a quick and easy way to test yourself after you study Spanish words and verbs. Your teacher can create different assignments for you to use in preparation for tests and quizzes and, for those who want more of a challenge, you can even time yourself!
This website is another resource for Spanish classes. Sometimes it’s easy to understand Spanish words when your teacher speaks clearly and slowly, but understanding a native Spanish speaker can be much more difficult. This website takes Spanish music videos and creates subtitles for each video. Then you can play games where word spaces are blank and you must listen to the video to fill in the blank with the correct word. It is a great way to improve your ability to listen and comprehend Spanish no matter who is speaking to you.
